IT IS CRAZY OUT THERE BUT, I AM CRAZIER

Updated: Jul 31, 2019

Do you wake up most days, put on your clothes, grab a cup of coffee and see what the world has to dump on you? Most people do, and I did until I found the secret. When I was in football, my coach always told us to be the first ones to hit and hit the hardest. The reasoning was to intimidate your opponent. The only way you can work through all the crazies out there is to be the craziest. With that in mind, there is no such thing as a bad idea, only untested ones. What worked in the past may not work today, and what did not work in the past might possibly work today.

A simple example of this is direct mail.In the past direct mail was the only way to reach your clients. Then came email. All of a sudden we could effortlessly send out mail to the masses very inexpensively. Now it has taken a turn. Listen to this! Direct mail has once again become more effective than email. It has made a comeback.

So, don't do what everyone else does. I tell my staff all the time, "if you do what people expect, you will have a good business, however if you do what people don't expect you will have a great business”.That, my friend is the secret. Don't spend your time trying to duplicate what everyone else is doing. Spend your time trying to figure out what others are not and how you can fill the gap. The old term thinks outside of the box has been rephrased in my world to think so you can get out of the box. Don't be like everyone else; be different. Challenge your brain.Oliver Wendell Holmes Jr. quotes, "A mind that is stretched by a new experience can never go back to its old dimensions." Physical Therapists stretch muscles. I stretch brains. Contact me to see how.
